Alan leads the Security at Red Hat. He brings 30 years military law enforcement, investigative, security and life safety experience in varied entities/corporations, cultures, geographies, and threat environments aiding in the possession of an international mindset. In 2014 Alan joined Red Hat as the Head of Global Security, Safety and Business Resilience with responsibilities for enterprise-wide security risk management and business resiliency matters. He previously held responsible charge positions as the Global Director of Security and Safety, Senior Program Manager of Security Services, Vice President of Security Services, Manager of Investigations and Non-Nuclear Physical Security, and Senior Consultant. His career spans many industries, several of which make up national critical infrastructure, including information technology, banking and financial services, and electric utilities. He also served with distinction in Iraq while in the U.S. Army Military Police Corps, 18th Airborne Corps, 16th MP Brigade. Alan received a Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude in Business Administration from NC Wesleyan. He is Board Certified in Security Management holding the designation of Certified Protection Professional (CPP) with ASIS International.
